Community Action Meeting #2

I’m writing up the official minutes but here are the highlights after a more sedate second meeting:

  • No new developments with Ark Royal arson case. No suspects have been identified and police are hoping for witnesses to come forward with evidence.
  • We explored ideas WHY people engage in ASB. Although many young people are bored, frustrated or disadvantaged only a small minority express that through anti-social behaviour. Those that do tend to be unhappy.
  • Diverting young people away from ASB is important because it is a well understood route to more serious criminality.
  • A request was made for volunteers to support existing or future services. Please contact if you would like more information.
  • Neighbourhood Watch presented their offering. I’ve looked into local groups and none of them seem to be active. If you are interested in joining or setting up a group that is something we could coordinate.
