Letters – Our reply to the daily tide
A resident asks how we can compete with a one-sided media.
The media seems to be mostly the Tory view. Why is there little Labour reply to daily tide?

Dear resident,
On the issue of right-leaning media, it’s certainly a challenge for us to get our message through. Many people stay within their media bubble because that’s where they feel comfortable and the ‘powers-that-be’ are happy to keep it that way. When I’ve tried to enter into (polite) debate or express a different view I usually get blocked, banned and reported! Fighting this system, to share alternative views or even challenge outright lies, is a costly battle. The vested interests have gotten rich with the way things are and we’re on the other side of socio-economic ideology!
That said, welcome to haps.chat!
I hope this will become a useful community resource where people can express their views and we can have a genuinely democratic approach. This will rely on both members and moderators being fair, honest, transparent and constructive – which I admit is no small feat in the online sphere! This means that, as far as is reasonable, we will not have anonymity and therefore we will remain accountable for our behaviour with our neighbours.
If you have other ideas about ways to level the media playing field, or make haps.chat a more useful resource, I’d love to talk about them.
